Our dog Barney was diagnosed with diabetes three weeks ago. Then two days later went of his feet. He was urinating more and drinking lots. The diabetes is still not controled. The dog now has brightened up still has a good appetite. And not urinmatint as much as before. He still cannot get up on his own.As you can imagine 6 stone of dog is a lot to haul around, but we have a helping hand to get him up with he loves to go out for a short walk. We masy get him a cart. He is going for tests to see if it is cushings deseas causing the other probs., If so he can have tablets hopefully. That should control the diabetes. We had just come back from a walking holiday.Barney was up hill and down dale. Suddenly he went off his legs . Why. Was it the dam boosters he had back in july????? Desperate. We love him terribly. Anmy suggestions on herbs that might help

Lindarose,
I am new to the cushing disease group but it sure sounds like Barney has it. I would have him tested and go from there. The test will probably cost about $100.00
but at least you will know for sure. If it is true be prepared to go through a bunch of stuff. One of the first things you will learn is the loading phase (about one week of radical treatment). Apparently your loved one may not have all of the symptions. My Mitzi only had a few. Sleepy all of the time , excessive panting, large quantities of water. No weight gain in tummy, no fur lose,
but she is just now completing the loading phase and is running into trouble. She cannot stand up , she has been yaken off of the lysodren and put on steroids for 2 days and then more testing. The best advice I can give you is to get real informed. I am.

Please give us an update on how Mitzi is now. With trying to make a decision on the Lysodone, I need to hear some stories on how well it has worked or if it hasn't. We are at the decision phase.
