Hi all,
I've had several private messages in the past few days from folks who were not able to find the threads that they had started about their dogs on our message board.
When a forum is "busy" and lots of new threads are being posted, some of the older topics will move to the second or third page of the forum, to make room on the first page for the newer threads. So I thought I'd just post a reminder for all, that if you don't see your thread on the first page of the forum, don't worry, it's still here on the message board. Just check further back to the second or third page, and you'll probably find your thread there. :) And when you post a new reply in any thread on the board, it will "move" back to the top of the first page again.
Also, don't forget that some individual topics (threads) are longer than others and may have more than one page, so be sure to read through the entire topic (all the pages in that particular topic) before posting a reply. Otherwise you may end up replying to a question that was asked and answered long ago, when the thread was first started.
Now back to our originally scheduled programming. ;)

Just wanted to add that if you can't seem to find your thread (topic), it's also possible that several of your threads may have been merged together with a previous thread that you started.
Starting new topics about your dog is fine, but especially with a newly diagnosed dog, it's helpful for everyone who is reading about that dog to be able to see all the information in one place, especially at first, or until you have treatment underway and things are going smoothly. When the information (your dog's symptoms, test results, etc) is spread out in several different topics it can be sort of difficult for folks to go back and find the other topic about the same dog where the relevant information was originally posted.
So sometimes, just to make it easier for everyone to keep track, the moderators may merge several threads (all about one particular dog) together into one single thread. :)

I have another helpful hint to add...
Click on your name in the Members List. Under Forum Info you will find two links... one to find all your posts, and one to find all your threads.

Hi there,
I have an even more basic question. How do I start a new thread? I can see how I reply to someone's message but I don't see any place that tells me how to post a new message. Thanks.

I am new and this site is very difficult to navigate. I am unable to find how to post or create a tread for people to reply to me. I am a computer person and usually do not have a problem getting around in a site. But this is not a user friendly site and everytime I try to post I can only reply to others. Please provide me with some simple directions to get me started. Maybe I am just not as computer literate as I use to be. Thank you.

Go here:
http://caninecushings.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=1
That is the main page of the most popular (most viewed) forum, called "Questions and Discussions".
Near the top left hand side of the page you should see a "button" that says "new thread".
Click on that "new thread" button to start your own topic/thread about your dog.

edited to add:
Catherine, one of our Moderators moved a post of yours and used it to start your own thread/topic. So all you have to do now is continue to use your topic.
(We like to keep all the information about each dog in their own topic because it's easier to keep track of each individual dog's story that way.)
Anyway, here's a link to your own Topic:
