Last Saturday at 1 am Duffy passed onto the Rainbow Bridge. His little body couldn't take all that was going on and he died peachfully in my arms. I will surely miss him each and every day. He was my best friend and such a loyal little guy. My husband and I are convinced that he had an angel spirit. Everyone who knew Duff was immediately taken by his sweet temperament. I don't think there was anyone Duff didn't like and that included all the dogs in the neighborhood.
I want to thank all who had given Duffy and me encouragement and advise. It was just too late.
God Bless you all.

I am so sorry to hear that Duffy has passed away. I know you did all you could for him.
I'm glad that you were with him and able to hug him and to hold him close to you at the very end of his life, as I'm sure you did every day from the moment he became part of your loving family.
I can tell from the way you have spoken about him that Duffy was a very special little fellow.
My heart goes out to you at this very sad time.

Hi again.
I want to add that I hope you know that Cushings Disease is often very hard to diagnose, especially because many of the symptoms are almost exactly like what you'd expect to see in a senior dog as they age, even if they are not sick at all. So please don't ever beat yourself up and say things to yourself like you should have caught it earlier or anything like that.
Dogs are such troopers and they don't complain, it's almost impossible to tell when they don't feel well, and many dogs are diagnosed only by accident when a routine blood test before a teeth cleaning or something like that just happens to show certain elevations in values that can sometimes be a hint that something might be going on.
You were a wonderful Mom to Duffy --- you loved him with all your heart!
And I hope that you will eventually be able to put away the sad memories of the short time at the end of Duffy's life and instead remember all the years of fun and love and the wonderful times that you and your Duffy had together.
* cyber hugs * to you
My thoughts and prayers are with you at this very difficult time. I know how you must be feeling. My Abby passed away about a month ago, also diagnosed too late to help, and I miss her so much. Remember that Duffy is in a better place now and is no longer suffering. His spirit will be with you always.

I am so sorry to hear about your Duffy.
I lost two of my beloved cats within the last four months and I know how hard it is. Our dog, Fritz, is now fighting Cushings.
You did all you could for Duffy and he loved you. Just keeping thinking of all the happy times you shared together.
And lastly remember that Duffy will be waiting for you on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I am so sorry for your loss. I know that place far too well, the grieving...
Duffy is busy, frolicking with Riley and Amos at the Rainbow Bridge, and no doubt its one big "hound dog of a party"
